We commence this fantastic half day tour from Kalbarri Boat Hire’s central location. Grey street Kalbarri (Opposite the Murchison Caravan Park)
The tour begins with an introduction to our local tour guides. We issue lifejackets, give a short safety briefing and prepare you for the adventure ahead.
We provide a Courtesy 4wd vehicle to travel up river to begin the Canoe Safari adventure, and to return you safely to the Boat Hire.
We hit the river’s edge and you choose your paddling crew, max of 3 adults per canoe. We then give a quick demonstration on paddling techniques and what to look for on the river. This is a self paced trip and you can take your time at a relaxed pace.
You then set off on the river to admire the rocky formations of Gregory Rocks. This section of paddling is approximately 1 hour and 4km of pristine river. Watch out for plenty of bird and marine life along the way.
You will then smell breakfast which is being prepared for you at Nanny Goat Well. This is an all you can eat breakfast, underneath the gum trees, a spot especially chosen for its natural beauty. Please let our guides know of any food allergies and preferences for cooking your breakfast.
Once your bellies are full you embark on your second leg of your paddle .This is approximately a 45 minutes and 3km distance. You pull into the river bank to be met by our local guides. This area is known by the locals as the dance floor, legend has it that there used be late night bush dancing here. We choose this spot as it has a lovely deep waterhole, here you can swim, cool off or relax on the river bank.
Once you feel refreshed continue on the canoe safari for the last optional section of the river. This is approximately 20min and 1 ½ km. On this section of the river you may see plenty of kangaroos, wallabies and goats coming down from the bush to have a drink at the river’s edge.
Our guide will then greet you on the sandy river bank. Here our guides load the canoes ready for your trip back in the courtesy 4wd vehicle. Relax, sit back and enjoy the scenery or share paddling stories with new found friends.
